1. What cookies are
Cookies are small text records stored by a browser. Similar technologies include local storage and IndexedDB. They can keep a user signed in, remember a preference, protect a session, or store a device-specific cryptographic key.
2. What FounderRoute uses
- Clerk authentication storage: essential cookies and related browser storage used to create, secure, and maintain sign-in sessions. Names and durations can vary based on authentication method and Clerk configuration.
sidebar_state: a functional cookie that remembers whether the app sidebar is open. It expires after seven days.- Direct-message key storage: IndexedDB stores a device-side private encryption key used to decrypt one-to-one messages. The key is not an advertising identifier and is not sent to FounderRoute.
FounderRoute does not currently set advertising, cross-site tracking, or behavioral product-analytics cookies. If that changes, this policy and any required consent controls will be updated before non-essential tracking is activated.
3. Third-party pages
Polar checkout, Clerk authentication screens, Typeform forms, and other third-party pages may use their own cookies under their policies. Those providers control cookies set on their own domains.
4. Your choices
You can remove or block cookies through browser settings. Blocking essential authentication storage may prevent sign-in or make security features unreliable. Removing the direct-message private key may prevent you from reading existing encrypted messages on that device.
